Frequently Asked Questions
What health metrics does Vertex Health track?
Vertex Health integrates with Apple HealthKit to track 17 health metrics including Steps, Active Calories, Resting Calories, Heart Rate, Resting Heart Rate, Sleep Duration, Exercise Minutes, Stand Hours, Walking + Running Distance, Flights Climbed, Blood Oxygen, Respiratory Rate, Heart Rate Variability, Walking Asymmetry, Walking Steadiness, Headphone Audio Levels, and more.
Is my health data safe?
Absolutely. Vertex Health is built with a privacy-first architecture. All your health data stays on your device and is never sent to any server. We use read-only access to HealthKit, meaning we never modify your health records. There are no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the app.
How does the free trial work?
The monthly subscription includes a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period, and you can cancel at any time before the trial ends. If you do not cancel, your subscription will automatically renew at the regular price. You can manage your subscription in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your iPhone’s Settings app: go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > Vertex Health > Cancel Subscription. You will continue to have access to premium features until the end of your current billing period.
What is the Health Score and how is it calculated?
The Health Score is a single number from 0 to 100 that represents your overall health based on five weighted metrics: Steps (25%), Calories (20%), Sleep (25%), Exercise (20%), and Stand Hours (10%). Each metric is compared against recommended daily targets to calculate your score.
Does Vertex Health work with Apple Watch?
Vertex Health reads data from Apple HealthKit, which includes data collected by your Apple Watch. Heart rate, exercise minutes, stand hours, and many other metrics are automatically synced from your Apple Watch to HealthKit and then displayed in Vertex Health.
What does CloudKit sync include?
CloudKit sync (premium feature) syncs your app preferences, widget configurations, and streak data across your Apple devices. It does not sync your health data, which always remains in HealthKit on each device. This uses Apple’s CloudKit infrastructure with end-to-end encryption.
How do I delete my data?
Since all data is stored locally on your device, simply deleting the Vertex Health app removes all associated data. If you use CloudKit sync, your synced preferences will also be removed from iCloud. You can also revoke HealthKit access at any time in Settings > Health > Data Access.
