How It Works

Pick your daily challenge time

At the time you choose, WordLocker invites you into a 3-stage learning session: Card Review → Matching → Spelling. Pick 5, 10, or 15 words per session.

Block distracting apps (optional)

Using Apple's Screen Time API, Instagram, TikTok, games, or any app you choose stays blocked until the challenge is complete. Blocking is fully optional — skip it and use the app without any restrictions.

Learn, match, spell — unlock

See the cards, match them to translations, then arrange the letters to spell each word correctly. Once all three stages are complete, your blocked apps unlock for the rest of the day. Tomorrow, new words at the same time.

Privacy First

WordLocker is built with privacy as a core principle. Works fully without an account.

  • Works fully without an account — Tap ‘Skip for now’ during onboarding to use the app anonymously. Your data stays on your device.
  • Local-first architecture — All learning data is stored on-device with SwiftData. Sign in to optionally sync to the cloud.
  • Blocked apps stay opaque — By Apple’s privacy design, the apps you block are represented as opaque tokens. Real app names never reach our servers.
  • No ads — None. Ever.
  • No third-party tracking — Just RevenueCat for subscription management and Supabase for optional cloud sync. Both are minimum-necessary services for in-app purchases and data backup.

Premium subscriptions are processed by RevenueCat. When you create an account, we use Supabase Auth (Sign in with Apple or email) only to sync your learning data — no analytics, no behavioral tracking.
